Russian ships and planes tracked

The National Armed Forces (NBS) tweeted news of four separate incidents of Russian military activity near Latvia's borders this extended national independence holiday weekend, as Coast Guard patrol boats spotted and tracked the Zhigulevsk GS-19 vessel late Thursday; NATO Baltic Air Police (BAP) jets scrambled to intercept two SU-27 flights over the Baltic Sea Saturday; on Sunday a Kilo-class submarine, the corvette Stoikiy and the tanker ship Viktor Koneckiy were observed near Latvia's sea border in neutral waters; and on Monday two BAP jets again raced up against an SU-27 fighter over neutral waters right by Latvia's airspace.
