See: Wild boar litter joins Līgatne Nature Trails

Take note – story published 5 years ago

A week ago, a wild boar at the Līgatne Nature Trails gave birth to a litter of five, said the Nature Protection Inspectorate.

The boar mother Magone (Poppy) gave birth on April 19, and its children are already very active and spend a lot of time in play.

Magone was born wild, but a few months into its life came into human protection after wounding her leg. Consequently, she does not shy away from curious human eyes.

The Wild Boar Days will take place at the Līgatne Nature Trails on April 28 with educational events and watching of boars throughout the day.

There are 13 wild boar at the Līgatne Nature Trails, including the male Ansis sporting tremendous tusks.
