Three for the Weekend: Nature trails, Autumn cleanup, Flea market

Take note – story published 3 years ago

While the weather is still relatively warm but the COVID-19 incidence rates are unfortunately going up, your best bet is going outside. Here are some tips to enjoy the weekend outdoors.

Nature trails

In contrast to spring when most nature trails were closed due to the pandemic, they are open now. Many are enjoying Latvia's golden autumn in Sigulda, but there are many more trails to explore. You can find sightseeing-worthy nature trails and places on the Dabas tūrisms (Nature tourism) app: here for Android and for iOS.

Final Flea Market

Spīķeri Square in the center of Rīga is hosting the season's last flea market October 24 at 11:00. Vintage dishes, pottery, accessories, vinyl, and other items with a story will be available for purchase.

Organizers invite everyone to comply with distancing and hand hygiene.

Botanical Garden Cleanup

University of Latvia's Student Council is organizing the annual autumn cleanup at the Botanical Garden (Kandavas Street 2). Saturday, October 24, at 11:00, everyone is invited to either come with their own work tools or use the ones provided - after hard work, there will be live music and a meal.
