Yellow thunderstorm alert in Latvia Friday afternoon

On Friday, August 9, afternoon, thunderstorm clouds are developing above Latvia and can lead to severe thunderstorms in places.

A yellow alert for thunderstorms has been distributed by the Latvian Environment, Geology and Meteorology Center.

The alert is in force 14:00 to 22:00 in all of the country.

LVGMC also said that if thunderstorms with severe rain occur, the chances of rivers overflooding again are high, so residents in flood-prone areas should watch out.
