Next week in Latvia will be dry and warm

This week will end with 30-degree heat in Latvia, and next week summer will continue - the weather will be mostly dry, sunny, and warm, according to forecasts.

On Saturday, August 24, the sun will shine and no precipitation is expected. South-westerly winds will gust to 9-14 meters per second, up to +16 meters per second along the coast at night. Air temperatures are not expected to fall below +13 C to +18 C at night, rising to +19 C to +24 C during the day and up to +26 C in the south-eastern part of the country.

On Sunday, skies will be mostly clear, but as a cold front approaches from the west, it will rain briefly in Kurzeme in the afternoon and thunderstorms are possible in the central part of the country in the evening. During the night, a gentle breeze will blow and the air temperatures will be +10 C to +17 C, while during the day a gusty southerly wind is expected and the air temps will be at +26 C to +31 C.

Next week, the anticyclone will intensify, so the weather will be mostly dry and the sun will only occasionally be covered by clouds. During the first half of the week, a slow northerly wind is expected, with night-time temperatures dropping to just below +10 C and fog forming here and there, and afternoon temperatures rising to +20 C to +25 C.

In the second half of the week, easterly winds are expected to bring warmer air - temperatures may approach +30 C at times.
