Latvia could get some spring snow this week

A long period of cool weather will start in Latvia, beginning at the middle of this week, according to forecasts by LSM's weatherman Toms Bricis.

On Monday and Tuesday, air temperatures in most parts of the country will reach +17 to +22 C, cooler on the coast. On Tuesday, some rain is expected in all regions, with thunderstorms.

Temperatures will start dropping on Wednesday. At night, there will be rain in Kurzeme, Zemgale, and the west of Vidzeme, but during the day, the temperature will not be higher than +7 C to +12 C. In the very east, it can still reach +20 C.

As of Thursday, the weather will be cool throughout Latvia. In the second half of the week, temperatures in the afternoons will mostly be +6 to 11 C, around zero at nights, even subzero during the weekend.

Precpitation is often expected, mainly rain, but also likely hail and wet snow.

Cool weather will also persist in early May.
