Thursday will be sunny, with temperatures reaching +27 to 31 C, and a little cooler on the coast.
Overnight Friday will be sultry, with minimum temperatures of +15 C to+19 C, but in places, mostly in Kurzeme and on the coast of the Gulf of Riga, including Riga, temperatures will not drop below +20 to +21 C, making it the first tropical night this summer.
On Friday afternoon, the air will warm up to +29 to +33 C.
It will be slightly cooler along the coast. On Friday afternoon, thunderstorm clouds will form in parts of Kurzeme, which could bring locally severe weather due to high winds: heavy rain, large hail and storms. Thunder showers are also expected in other regions in the evening and overnight on Saturday.
The night into Saturday will also be very warm, with minimum temperatures of +15 C to +20 C.
Temperatures will be slightly cooler at the weekend, mostly in the +22 C to +28 C range, with cooler temperatures of around 20 degrees on the west coast of Kurzeme.
Next week, the weather will be changeable, with sunny spells replaced by rain and thunderstorms, and temperatures will become more variable.
There have been no major heatwaves in Latvia this summer. The highest temperature so far was in Ventspils on May 28, when it was 30.1 C. In the rest of the country, temperatures have not exceeded 30 degrees this summer.
