Temperatures will drop to 13-18 C on Saturday night and 10-12 C in parts of Kurzeme. The day will be sultry, with temperatures reaching +23 C to +28 C and mostly sunny, with thunderstorms possible in Vidzeme and Latgale.
The night to Sunday will be warm with a minimum temperature of +15 C to +19 C, but during the day the sky will be overcast, with showers and westerly winds picking up across the country. Maximum temperatures will be +17 C to +21 C mid-day, reaching up to +24 C in the east of the country in places, but becoming cooler in the evening.
A strong cyclone will form over the Baltic States overnight Monday, with north-westerly, northerly winds picking up significantly. The strongest wind gusts are expected in the second half of the night and in the early hours of Monday, with gusts around 25 meters per second along the coast and around 20 meters per second inland.
Some trees and branches may break.
North-westerly, northerly winds will also cause a rise in the water level in the Vidzeme coast of the Gulf of Riga, where flooding of beaches is possible.
On Monday, short-term showers with thunderstorms are also expected. The weather will also be cool, with maximum temperatures of +16 to +20 C.
It will become warmer, sunnier and drier later next week.
