The heaviest snowfall is expected in the period from the second half of Monday night to Tuesday evening. In the east of Vidzeme and Latgale, around 10 centimeters, and in places even 20 centimeters of snow cover will form.
Elsewhere in Latvia on Tuesday and Wednesday it will also snow at times, but only a thin layer of snow will form in a few some places, mainly in Kurzeme.
The air temperature on Monday and Tuesday nights will be in the range of -4 Celsius to 0 degrees, during the day mostly in the range of +1 to +5 degrees, a little cooler in the east.
Forecasts for the second half of the week are still variable and unclear. Thursday and Friday are likely to get warmer, but temperatures will drop again over the weekend. Precipitation is often expected – both rain and snow.
