Record-warm Thursday expected in Latvia

On Thursday, the weather in Latvia will be summery and new heat records will be reached, according to forecasts.

There will be few clouds, and no precipitation is expected. Slow to moderate southerly winds will blow.

The air will warm to +20 C to +25 C in the afternoon.

So far, the highest air temperature recorded in Latvia on September 28 is 24.2 degrees in Pāvilosta in 1981.

In the rest of the country, local records are anywhere between +21 and +24 C. Rīga's warmest September 28 was also in 1981, when temperatures reached 23.3 degrees in the capital.

In Riga the day will be sunny and warm, the temperature will reach +24 C to +25 C.
