On Monday, the weather will be cloudy, but clear skies and sunshine are expected in places. A precipitation zone will cross the country from the west overnight, bringing rain to most of the country, with a few showers during the day.
Fog will form in eastern areas, impairing visibility. Winds will blow gently to moderately from the west during the day, gusting to 15-17 meters per second (m/s). The air temperatures will be within ++9 C to +12 C during the day.
As the cyclone continues, clouds will cover most of the sky in the middle of the week. On Tuesday, it will rain in some places, but on Wednesday rain is expected almost everywhere. South-westerly winds will continue to blow gently to moderately, gusting to 15-16 m/s. Minimum temperatures will be +3 C to +8 C, warmer on the Kurzeme coast, with daytime temperatures reaching +8 C to +12 C.
In the second half of the week, an intense cyclone will make the weather even more unfavorable. Many parts of Latvia will have rainy days, and the first snow may be expected towards the end of the week, falling wet in places but also forming the first snow layer in some areas. Winds will also pick up, gusting across Latvia.
A colder air mass will gradually move in over the weekend and the thermometer will drop back below freezing at night, according to the LVĢMC.
