Another warm January week ahead in Latvia

Forecasters say the current pattern of extremely mild weather for the season is set to continue this week with temperatures remaining above freezing for most of the time except at night.

This week will be overcast with some rain - estimated to be around 5 millimeters. Though sleet and snow may also fall, the snow will not settle.

The wind will be gusty and coming from the west, southwest and northwest with the strongest winds expected on Wednesday, with gusts up to 20-23 meters per second.

The air temperature throughout the week be mostly in the range +1 Celsius to + 8 C degrees, with Wednesday night and Thursday morning likely the coolest prt of the week when the temperature will dip to perhaps - 4 C before returning to positive territory during the day.

Next weekend is expeted to bring... more of the same.
