At least one more heatwave expected this summer in Latvia

Take note – story published 2 years ago

Latvia will have at least one more heatwave this summer, according to forecasts by weatherman Toms Bricis.

This week the weather will be cooler in Latvia, but the respite from the heat will not be too long.

Already this weekend, the air temperature will rise again slowly, approaching the +30 C mark. Next week, in the afternoons, heat of around +30 C is expected across the country.

Forecasts for the next heatwave are not yet too certain, but the heat is likely to last for about a week and hit approximately +32 C.

Drought will also remain an issue.  There has been more rainfall in Kurzeme, and in all regions, there are areas where thunderstorms have provided sufficient humidity, but in most parts of the country there is drought.
