Beware, beachgoer! Heavy rain expected

Take note – story published 7 years ago

Your parasol might turn into a sandy, perforated pancake if you don't pay attention to the sky at the beach, as thunderstorms and heavy rain are forecast to cross Latvia on Thursday, reported LSM's weather man Toms Bricis.

Rain clouds are to reach Latvia's Kurzeme region in the west by the afternoon and cross the whole country throughout the day.

And, as yet another excuse to stay in bed this Thursday, hail falling from swollen cumulonimbi clouds is also possible throughout the country.

Temperatures will reach +25..+30C throughout the day, with the Kurzeme region being chillier at +21..+24C.

The first rains are expected to hit Rīga at midday, and driving might be difficult on the afternoon due to flooding. Temperatures will reach +28..+29C in the capital.
