The Arctic air masses that dominated in early October, bringing hail and sleet, will be replaced by a steady stream of winds from the Atlantic Ocean on Wednesday, bringing much warmer days.
On Monday night and Tuesday morning, in many places the temperature will fluctuate around zero, and there could a be a little more sleet. During the day the temperature on the coast in Kurzeme will reach +10 degrees Celsius, elsewhere it will be cooler.
Frost is no longer expected from Wednesday, temperatures in the second half of the week will be mostly in the range +8 C to + 13 C, and the weekend could be warmer still. At night, frost is no longer expected though rain will fall from time to time,
Southwesterly winds will become stronger from Wednesday, with gusts of 15 to 18 meters per second along the coast.
Līdz nedēļas vidum virs Latvijas vēl atradīsies arktiskā gaisa masa, bet pēc tam pakāpeniski kļūs siltāks.
