Cooler temperatures, some rain ahead this week in Latvia

Take note – story published 4 years ago

Following a very pleasant final few days of August and first couple of days of September, a cold front is expected to arrive over Latvian territory September 2 bringing cooler and cloudier weather for much of the week.

Only Kurzeme coastal areas are likely to experience rain on Monday, and temperatures will remain warm at to +25 Celsius in many places, but rain and thunderstorms are expected to spread to other parts of Latvia by evening.

On Tuesday the weather will be cooler all over Latvia, between +17 C to +22 C. It will be mostly cloudy with perhaps a little rain, and Wednesday is expected to follow a similar pattern while being a degree or so cooler again.

Rain will become more of a factor towards the end of the working week, particularly in western districts. Moderate southerly and southwesterly winds will blow at 4-7 m / s. The air temperature will be + 10 C to + 17 C at night and during the day the temperatures will be + 17 C to + 24 C.

Though the prognosis for next weekend is more uncertain, it is likely to carry on this reasonable but not particularly striking weather pattern of cloud, showers and comfortable temperatures.
