Dry weather to follow awful Wednesday

A rainy, windy Wednesday with bouts of wet snow is in the forecast, with dry weather expected for the rest of the week, reported LSM's Toms Bricis.

Following a Monday that will largely be clear across the country, the weather will start changing on Tuesday with the arrival of a weather system bringing precipitation and strong winds.

Tuesday snow will fall over the central and western regions of the country. On the evening it's expected to melt into snow with air temperatures of -1..+5C in the forecast.

Wednesday night will bring snow and blizzards in the eastern regions with slush in the rest of the country. The wind will be blowing with gusts of up to 20 m/s and temperatures will hover around 0..+5C.

The skies will be partially clear over parts of Latvia for the remainder of the week. Temperatures around 0..-5C during daytime and -5..-10C at night are expected in the Vidzeme and Latgale regions while the Kurzeme western region will see temperatures of 0..+5C and around 0C in Rīga and central Latvia.
