Easter holiday weather outlook

The Easter holiday weekend will be cool, damp and a bit windy, but slowly improving, according to the latest forecasts.

Temperatures on Friday will be in the range +5 Celsius to +10 C, but a gusty northerly and northwesterly wind will make it feel cooler. Gusts will reach 13-18 meters per second in many places. In late afternoon it will get cooler. Light rain is expected in some places, and wet snow in the evening.

On Saturday, short-term precipitation is expected mostly in Vidzeme and Latgale, the temperature will be around +3 C to +8 C during the day, and the gusty north wind will still blow.

Easter Sunday will see the wind ease off. The weather will be mostly sunny and the air temperature will rise to +11 C. Easter morning will be cool, with a little frost possible.

Easter Monday will see temperatures start to climb by 1-3 C and the weather will remain dry with scattered sunshine.
