Heat record falls in northern Latvia

On Tuesday afternoon the air temperature in Rūjiena (northern Latvia) rose to +6.7C, meaning it's the warmest February 14 on record.

Temperatures at around 2 p.m. were from +2 to +6C across Latvia with Rīga recording a heat of +3.7C at 1 p.m.

The national heat record for February 14 was +7.5C.

It's even warmer in Estonia with +7.1C in southern Saaremaa.
