Thursday and Friday are expected to be a couple of degrees cooler with temperatures in the mid- to high 20s rather than touching or exceeding 30 C.
Next weekend should see the current weather system finally replaced with westerly and, northwesterly winds from Scandinavia bringing significantly cooler and wetter weather.
Bearing in mind that another hot week is ahead, members of the public and visitors are reminded to stay hydrated, not to swim under the influence of alcohol and not to use naked flames in the forests.
