Until Wednesday, the weather will remain mostly sunny, with air temperatures reaching +3 C to +9 C in the afternoons, at night temperatures in most parts of the country will fall to 0 C to -3 C, along the coast it will remain around +1 C to +2 C at night, so there will still be the potential for ice on many roads.
On Thursday, a north-west wind will come in, bringing colder air, with temperatures rising only to 0 C to +4 C during the day. The coldest weather is expected on Friday and Saturday morning, when the temperature will drop to -3 C to -8 C, in Vidzeme and Latgale around -10 C. In the afternoons, temperatures will rise slightly above zero in most parts of the country.
Sunday will get warmer and the air will warm up to +2 C to +7 C.
Snow and sleet are also expected in the second half of the week. A few centimeters of snow may form, but it will melt quickly in the afternoon sun.
