Mid-August temperatures in Latvia well above norm

Average air temperature in Latvia in the second decade of August reached +21.8 C, which is +4.9 C above norm, according to data compiled by the Latvian Environment, Geology and Meteorology Center.

It was the hottest ten-day period since July last year when average air temperatures reached +22.6 C.

This month's average air temperature in Latvia is currently +20 C, and by the end of the month, it is likely to rise slightly further and surpass the 1939 record, when the average air temperature in August reached +20.2 C.
