New temperature records likely this week in Latvia

This week the weather will remain warm in Latvia, and new records could be hit according to forecasts by weatherman Toms Bricis.

Air temperatures in the afternoons will be within +9 C and +15 C, but Saturday as high as +16 C to +17 C. Minimum temperatures at night will be between +6 C and +11 C, cooler on Tuesday morning.

The skies will mostly be cloudy, with little sun and little rain. 

Historically, at the end of October, the highest temperature has been within +12 C to +18 C. This week local heat records will be hit during the working week, mainly in Kurzeme and the central part of the country, but on Saturday in all regions. The October 29 heat record so far was set in 1945 at +17.1 C.  

Further forecasts also point that in early November it will still be warm.
