Take note – story published 6 years ago

This week will be freezing with polar winds to bring cold air to Latvia, say forecasts.

On Tuesday morning temperatures will drop to -10C in the eastern reaches and to -8..-13C on Wednesday morning across the country and plunge to -14..-17C in parts of Vidzeme and Latgale.

Temps are sure to drop even further, to about -20C, in the latter half of the week, but they are not to plunge below -25C.

There will be little by way of precipitation, except with snow expected in Kurzeme. The cold spell might continue until March.
