Friday night should will pass without precipitation, but the amount of cloud will increase during Saturday, with rain expected in the afternoon in Kurzeme, as well as in many places in Latgale. A gusty south-westerly wind will persist.
The minimum air temperature at night will be from 6 Celsius to 11 C, on the coast 12 C to 13 C, but during the day the air will warm up to from 13 C to 17 C.
On Sunday, it will rain briefly in all regions, but at times the sun will also break through. The wind will turn from the west and north-west and become slower but during the day it will not be warmer than 15 C.
In the first half of the new week, the nights will become cooler, in places in Vidzeme and Latgale the temperature will drop as low as 2 C or 3 C at night, but during the day it will still be between 10 C and 15 C. Gusty winds and occasional rain will remain common. Forecasts show that temperatures next week will mostly be slightly higher than the mid-October average in recent decades.
In 2019, at the beginning of October, on October 6 and 7, the first snow fell in some parts of Latvia. Last year, the first snowflakes appeared in Latvia on October 24. The current long-term forecasts show that the first snowfall in Latvia will probably be at about the same time as last year.
