Temperatures hit year's record high in Latvia

On Friday afternoon, the air temperature in Rucava reached +33.4 C which is the highest temperature in Latvia this year, according to information from the Latvian Environment, Geology and Meteorology Center (LVĢMC).

Previously, the hottest weather this year was on June 28, when Ventspils recorded +33.1 C.

This has also become the hottest August 19 since weather observations have been carried out in Latvia. Previously, the hottest August 19 was in 2017, when temperatures reached 30.9 degrees in Bauska.
