Thursday will be coldest day of week in Latvia

From the middle of the week, weather in Latvia will be significantly cooler, according to forecasts by LSM's weatherman Toms Bricis.

On the night to Tuesday, rain will cross the whole country. It will rain for a long time but during the day the sky will clear and it will be warm – night temperatures between +7 C and +12 C, whereas during the day +12 C to +15 C.

On Wednesday, the wind will turn and bring cooler air from the north and northwest. At night the temperature will slip down to +2 C at the coldest, but will only range between +5 C and +10 C during the day. In many areas there will be a temporary rainstorm, including a thunderstorm on the coast.

The coldest weather this week is expected on Thursday morning, with temperatures around zero in most of Latvia, and down to -3 C in Vidzeme and Latgale. Roads can be icy.

Over the weekend, temperatures in afternoons will reach around +6 C to +11 C, in Kurzeme up to +13 C. Significant rain is not expected.
