Warm weekend ahead in Latvia

On Saturday, new heat records will be hit in Latvia, according to forecasts by weatherman Toms Bricis.

The weather will be windy, and it will rain from time to time throughout the country, but air temperatures will not drop below +10 C to +13 C on Saturday night. During the day it will be between +12 C and +16 C.

Historical heat records of October 29 throughout Latvia, range from +13.4 C in Zosēni to +17.1 C in Kolka. New peak temperatures of local significance on October 29 are expected to be set in some places across all regions.

On Sunday, the wind will come from the north-west and grow slower, and cooler but drier air will flow into Latvia. Minimum air temperatures on Sunday night will be between +4 C to +10 C but won't get warmer than +7 C and +12 C during the day.

At the beginning of the new week, temperatures in the afternoons will be between +8 C and +13 C, in the second half of the week between +6 C and +11 C. The start of the week will be dry, but rain is expected more frequently in the second half of the week.

Forecasts don't show a sharp drop in air temperatures, frost or snow in the next two weeks.
