On Saturday and Sunday, the air temperature both at night and during the day stay north of zero at around + 2 degrees Celsius in the east of the country and up to + 8 C in the rest of the country. Sunbathing opportunities will be limited, however, as the sky will be mostly cloudy with perhaps a peek at the sun appropriately enough only on Sunday afternoon, when cooler and drier air masses reach Latvia from the east.
Significant rainfall is not expected over the weekend, but a gusty southeast wind of 11-16 meters per second will blow.
At the beginning of next week, things will get cooler again. On Sunday night and Monday morning the temperature will drop as low as - 5 C and in the following nights places in the east of the country will be a few degrees cooler. Precipitation is not expected, and the skies will become clearer as next week proceeds.
Longer-range forecasts suggest that it will get warmer again in the middle of the month.
