On Friday, May 28, Latvia will have partly cloudy weather and in some places there may be a farewell performance from the rain for a while, and thunderstorms are possible in the south of Zemgale.
A slow wind will blow, mostly from the west. The maximum air temperature is expected from +12 degrees Celsius on the coast to +19 C in the east of the country.
On Saturday, only in the eastern part of the country are brief rain showers likely and starting on Sunday, a dry period should begin throughout the country.
As the amount of cloud decreases, the nights will become cooler - on the coldest nights, the air temperature may in some cases approach zero, producing a morning frost.
The maximum air temperature will remain below +20 C degrees for the next few days, but could reach +25 C later next week.
However, according to data of the European Center for Medium-Range Weather Forecasts, the average air temperature in Latvia in June is expected to be below the norm, with the amount of precipitation close to the norm. So while things will be better than in recent weeks, it still won't be time for the spectacularly sunny summer some of us are hoping for.
