Take note – story published 3 years ago

The current frosty conditions will stay in place across Latvia this weekend, but it will get warmer next week, forecasts show.

There will be no precipitation on Saturday, and some welcome winter sunshine will appear in Vidzeme and Latgale, but Sunday will be cloudy with widespread light snow and sleet, plus icy roads. The air temperature both at night and during the day will be from zero to - 6 Celsius degrees, though in coastal parts of Kurzeme it will be warmer at up to +2 C. A slow to moderate southeast wind will be felt.

It will get warmer next week, with the temperature during the day mostly in the range zero to + 5 C, and in the second half of the week on the coast up to +7 degrees.

Night-time frosts can be expected and the prevailing winds will come from the south and southwest, increasing in strength slightly.

There will be little rainfall next week, only a few scattered showers.
