Saturday and Sunday will see southwesterly, westerly winds, shoreline gusts reaching 20-25 meters per second and 13-18 meters per second in the rest of the country. On Sunday more inland regions in Vidzeme may see gusts of over 20 meters per second.
This type of wind can cause mild damage, mostly by breaking individual tree branches or knocking down trees, so be prepared for electrical disruptions.
During the weekend Kurzeme and Vidzeme will see frequent rain, especialy in the north - in the Kolka, Dundaga, as well as Ainaži, Salacgrīva and Rūjiena areas. There will be short breaks in the rain over the whole weekend and precipitation levels will reach 20-30 square liters, but in the south- Zemgale and Latgale will have areas with no rain at all.
Temperatures during the day on Saturday and Sunday will be between +10..+15 degrees with warm nights between +8..+13 degrees.
Temperatures during the day on Monday will be only +4..+9 degrees and in Vidzeme rain will be accompanied by wet snow. In accordance with previous predictions on Tuesday a thin layer of snow will accumulate in Vidzeme and Latgale, and on Wednesday morning in certain areas temperatures will dip below -5 degrees.
