At 4:00 am on August 17, the annual musical, visual, and metaphysical event “Ezera skaņas” will take place on Kāla lake, Pieci.lv reported on June 21.

The event will occur on a stage floating in the middle of a lake in the Latvian countryside. The spectators attend the event in boats which they float to the middle of the lake at night. Darkness and silence reigns all around. Then light and sound projections begin to appear, escalating with the crack of dawn, and culminate with the first rays of the sun.

“The event is momentary in its nature, it resembles a dream. Without formal speeches, without any names and rules it remains a personal and unifying experience,” as described by the organizers.

There will also be a camp ahead of the festival – visitors will have an opportunity to take part in the creation of two large-scale works and practice photography and choreography.
