Three for the Weekend: Musical weekend

Take note – story published 6 years ago

A music festival, Rammstein-and-Beethoven crossovers and a very special musical CD with Latvian classics in new sounds - that's what's in store for this weekend.

Porta World Music Festival

The 17th annual Porta festival starts on November 3 and consists of five concerts held over two weekends until November 12.

The first week will continue with a traditional concert at "Dailes" house of music, where spectators will have the chance to hear Karyna Gomes from Guinea-Bissau and the much skilled Abbos Kosimov collaborating with the local academically experimental group Xylem Trio.

On Sunday Gomes will perform at the lovely city of Saldus with a solo show as well, organizers say.
