airBaltic market share at Rīga airport decreases

The market share of the Latvian national airline airBaltic according to the number of passengers transported at Rīga airport decreased by 6.3 percentage points last year – to 50.9%, according to information on the website of Rīga International Airport on January 24, LETA reported.

At the same time, the market share of the Irish low-cost airline Ryanair has increased by 9.5 percentage points in Riga, reaching 30.7%.

The market share of the Hungarian low-cost airline Wizz Air was 3.8% in 2022, Norwegian had a 3.2% market share at Riga airport last year, while the market share of the Turkish airline Turkish Airlines at Riga airport was 2.1% last year.

Last year, 1.9% of the market share at Riga airport was held by Finland's Finnair, Germany's Lufthansa – 1.8%, the Latvian-based SmartLynx Airlines – 1.8% and Poland's LOT Polish Airlines – 1.2%.

A year earlier, airBaltic's market share was 57.2%, Ryanair's 21.2% and Wizz Air's 5.5%.
