Latvian director Ilze Ance Kazaka's animated film “Gruzis” was named the best film in the Baltic short film competition, the festival organizers said.
"This year's 2Annas Festival was held both face-to-face and online and we are truly grateful for the support and audience activity. As well as enjoying a variety of exciting short films, performances, and creative events during the festival, we also offered for the first time in the history of the Latvian film industry a special section of the festival, "Purely Queer", which attracted a lot of public interest and responsiveness. I feel this section will become an important part of the festival in the future. There is a great sense of satisfaction in what has been done, but for us the festival organizers, the work does not end because we start planning for the next one right after the festival concludes," said Eila Moroza, producer of the festival.
The films were evaluated in four competition programs – the International Short Film Competition, the Baltic Short Film Competition, the International Medium-length Film Competition, as well as the International Short Film Competition for Children and Youth.
The theme of the next festival in 2025 will be 'symbiosis.'
