Tartu kicks off its European Capital of Culture year

The southern Estonian city of Tartu put on a grandiose show on the evening of January 26 to kickstart its year as a European Capital of Culture.

As previously reported by LSM, Estonia hopes to attract thousands of Latvian tourists across the border during 2024 to attend events and explore southern Estonia more widely. Several events will feature cross-border collaborations in film, music and drama.
