Latvia to trigger Supernova on Saturday

Take note – story published 4 years ago

The moment Eurovision aficionados have been waiting for finally arrives on Saturday 8 February when the 'Supernova' qualification contest will be broadcast live on LTV1 and LTV7 from 21:25 Rīga time (19:25 GMT).

Scheduled to last nearly three hours, Supernova will see nine finalists battling it out to represent Latvia in the 2020 Eurovision semi-finals in Rotterdam, the Netherlands, in May. The stage of destiny is currently having a final polish a few floors below us as we write this.

As ever, an expert jury will be on hand to give its profound yet idiosyncratic thoughts on the performers, but the Latvian public will have the ultimate say via telephone and online vote to determine who will spend springtime tiptoeing among the tulips and who will be pushing up daisies.

You can preview all the contenders below, then find out who nails it and who fails it on Saturday by watching live and following the latest news on the Supernova website.
