Song and Dance Festival dates revealed

The nationally significant event, which takes place once every five years, will take place from June 30 to July 8, 2018.

To have an idea of how these massive and massively beautiful festivals look, LSM has photos of little people participating in the Youth Song and Dance Festival last year.

The Latvian Institute describes the Song and Dance Festival thus:

"With the tra­di­tion dat­ing back to 1873, [the Lat­vian na­tion­wide Song and Dance Cel­e­bra­tion] is a grass-roots move­ment that lit­er­ally per­vades all of Lat­vian so­ci­ety, en­gag­ing huge num­bers of peo­ple from all walks of life."
