Three Concerts for the Weekend in Latvia

For this weekend, we offer a selection of musical adventures to complement the winter wonderland-y days.

LNSO, Antons Ļahovskis, Tarmo Peltokoski

On Friday, February 9, the Latvian National Symphony Orchestra with Antons Ļahovskis on the piano and Tarmo Peltokoski conducting will perform Sergei Prokofiev's Piano Concerto No. 2 and Dmitri Shostakovich's Symphony No. 11.

The concert takes place at the Great Guild (Amatu Street 6, Rīga) 19:00. More information is available on the event page.

Choir Sōla concert "Alone is not lonely"

The mixed choir Sōla promises a fun evening with the most popular Latvian music starting from the 1960s up to today. The choir itself describes the show as the 'year's most mischievous concert' and guarantees a load of endorphins.

The concert takes place Sunday, February 11, at 16:00, Latvian Railway History Museum (Uzvaras Boulevard 2A, Rīga). More information on the event page.

Freibergs, Āzers, Sinfonietta Rīga

The percussionists Guntars Freibergs and Juris Āzers together with the chamber orchestra Sinfonietta Rīga will offer three very different pieces in their own interpretation – J. S. Bach's Harpsichord Concerto in D minor, G, Ligeti's Concert Romanesc, and A. Dorman's Spices. Perfumes. Toxins.

This concert will open the tenth season of the Cēsis Concert Hall (Raunas Street 12, Cēsis). The concert takes place on Saturday, February 10, 18:00. More information on the event page.
