Latvia beats Germany in ice hockey world championship

Take note – story published 6 years ago

Team Latvia kept their hopes of participation in the latter stages of the IIHF 2018 world ice hocket championships well and truly alive with a great win May 12 over Germany in Denmark.

Latvia ended the game as 3:1 victors having stormed to a 3:0 lead before allowing Germany to score a consolation goal. You can read a full match report HERE.

The upshot is that Latvia, Germany and hosts Denmark are all scrapping for fourth place in the group and the right to advance to the second round of the tournament.

Latvia takes on mighty Canada on May 14 before what could be a make-or-break showdown with Denmark in the final group game.
