Ķibermanis and Matiss Miknis, Arvis Vilkaste and Janis Strenga, led the field after two of four runs, but was unable to hold off the challenge of reigning champion Francesco Friedrich of Germany on the final two runs, with Friedrich winning by a margin of 0.29 seconds.
