New board for Latvian Startup Association, new hub for startup companies

The Latvian Startup Association has announced the composition of its new board, according to Labs of Latvia February 1.

The new board members are Andris K. Bērziņš, Ernests Jenavs, Rolands Mesters, Agnese Veckalne and Madara Kņūtiņa. All members of the board have been participating in the development of the startup ecosystem for a long time. The newly elected board will lead the association for the next two years.

Applications were received from 10 candidates. 4 of them are founders themselves. This is the highest number of applications from startup founders so far

The new board of Latvian Startup Association:

  • Andris K. Bērziņš, managing partner of TechHub Riga, member of the board of TechChill and partner of the investment fund Change Ventures;
  • Ernests Jenavs, co-founder of Edurio;
  • Rolands Mesters, co-founder of Nordigen, vice president of GoCardless for bank account data issues;
  • Agnese Veckalne, operational manager of Longenesis;
  • Madara Kņūtiņa, operational manager of BADideas.fund.

The Latvian Startup Association is an organization that unites 121 members. Its purpose is to develop the Latvian startup environment, providing companies with access to reliable data and resources, as well as creating favorable conditions for growth. The association maintains the Latvian startup database, develops the annual Startup report, and manages the Startup award.

As previously reported by LSM, February 1 was a big day for the Latvian startup scene with the opening of a new 'Startup House' in central Rīga to act as a hub for startup businesses.
