Over the year actual unemployment rate fell by 0.4 percentage points.
The unemployment rate among men stayed at 8.3 % while among women increased by 0.1 percentage points up to 4.7 %.
The unemployment rate registered with the State Employment Agency (NVA) was 5.6 %. It has risen by 0.1 percentage points over the month and reduced by 0.4 percentage points over the year.
In July 2023 there were 62.2 thousand unemployed persons in Latvia (22.4 thousand women and 39.8 thousand men), which is 0.6 thousand more than month ago and 4.1 thousand fewer than a year ago. During the month the number of unemployed men did not change while of unemployed women grew by 0.6 thousand.
