Daily Vilnius-Rīga train to start running at end of year

A passenger train between Vilnius and Riga will travel daily, spending just over four hours on the road, representatives of Lithuanian state railway group  "Lietuvos geležinkeliai" said December 15.

The Lithuanian passenger train operator LTG link will travel from Vilnius in the morning and from Rīga in the afternoon. The first trip will take place on December 27.

The train will leave Vilnius at 6:30 am every day, and arrive at Rīga Central station at 10:43 am.

The train will depart at 15:28 from Rīga and arrive in Vilnius at 19:51.

Representatives for the company explain that LTG Link is currently making preparations for the new route and will provide customers with all relevant information on train journeys as early as next week and will begin ticket sales.

Only international traffic will be provided on the LTG link route in the territory of Latvia.
