Those finding themselves on Russia's rage list are accused of various crimes including dismantling Soviet monuments and "reviving Nazi ideas" notwithstanding the fact that the greatest advocate of Nazi ideas such as genocide and bogus racial superiority fantasies is Russia itself.
The wanted list includes 59 members of the 13th Saeima of the Republic of Latvia, as well as former Minister of Internal Affairs Marija Golubeva. For the first time in modern history, the leader of another country – Estonian Prime Minister Kaja Kallas – is also included on Russia's list of wanted persons.
Russian independent media website "Mediazona" has obtained and analyzed the database of wanted persons of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia and concluded that this list includes both Ukrainian military personnel and soldiers of the International Legion of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, as well as European politicians and officials.
Latvia can take pride in having the largest number of politicians and officials declared wanted by the fascist authorities in Russia. A total of 83 Latvians are declared wanted, Ukraine ranks second with 43 people, while 29 persons are declared wanted from Lithuania. Three Polish and two Estonian politicians or officials have also been declared wanted in Russia.
In May 2022, the Latvian Saeima's decision to withdraw from the agreement with Russia on the preservation of Soviet-era memorials led to the dismantling of many in Latvia, including in Riga. It is now known that 59 of the 68 members of the Saeima who voted for the termination of the agreement have been declared wanted.
In connection with the dismantling of monuments to Soviet soldiers, 15 deputies of the Riga municipality and the then Minister of Internal Affairs Marija Golubeva were also announced as wanted.
It is also known that the Russian police is in theory looking for the Minister of Agriculture Armands Krauze, the Minister of Finance Arvils Ašeradens and the Minister of Justice Inese Lībiņa-Egnere, because these persons were MPs during the 2022 monument vote.
Similarly Russia's fantasy wanted list for Lithuania includes the mayor of Klaipeda, his deputy, 13 city council members, officials and two historians who supported the demolition of Soviet monuments in that city.
Six members of the Vilnius City Council and Minister of Culture Simonas Kairys are also 'wanted' in the fever dreams of Russian law enforcement.
After getting acquainted with the database of the Russian Ministry of the Interior, "Mediazona" concluded that the result of the work of these departments is several hundred criminal cases and about 700 wanted foreigners who, most likely, will never voluntarily visit Russia. And although the Ministry of the Interior maintains such a database of wanted persons, it is not known how it is organized, making the whole thing just another figment of Russia's deranged imagination.
