He said he has discussed the idea with mayor Nils Ušakovs (Harmony) and that the two had agreed that supervisory boards would bet set in place to oversee the leaders of municipal companies.
Burovs said that the members of these supervisory boards could be picked in open competitions organized by professional HR companies. Likewise, further in the future, competitions could be organized for the posts of board members at municipal companies.
Burovs became deputy mayor just December 18 after his party mate Andris Ameriks resigned from the post amidst a corruption scandal involving possible bribery in multi-million procurements at the Rīgas satiksme municipal company.
