14 new MPs take seats in the Saeima

On Thursday, December 15, the Saeima approved the parliamentary mandate for 14 new members. This was necessary because their party members have been elected ministers in the new government of PM Krišjānis Kariņš (New Unity).

From the New Unity list, Ilze VerginaEdmunds JurēvicsGatis LiepiņšAtis LabucisIngrīda CirceneJānis Reirs and Viktorija Baire will take the place of Krišjānis Kariņš, Edgars Rinkēvičs, Anda Čakša, Inese Lībiņa-Egnere, Evika Siliņa, Arvils Ašeradens, and Raimonds Čudars.

From the National Alliance, Ģirts Lapiņš,  Jurģis Klotiņš,  Normunds Dzintars, Arnolds Jātnieks will take the parliamentary seats of Nauris Puntulis, Ināra Mūrniece, Ilze Indriksone, and Jānis Vitenbergs.

Edgars Putra,  Ieva Brante, and Andrejs Svilāns from the United List will take the seats of Māris Kučinskis, Didzis Šmits, and Māris Sprindžuks.

As per the usual procedure, prior to the vote on the approval of the mandate, Members made a solemn vow at the Saeima meeting, confirmed by their signature.
