Verboom! More military drills this week in Latvia

From April 2 to 5, the gloriously-named "Verboom VI" exercise will take place at the Ādaži military training zone on the outskirts of Rīga.

During the training, unites from the Latvian, Lithuanian and Estonian NATO enhanced presence battle group engineer units will improve their mutual interaction.

The multinational combat engineer exercise will take place for the sixth time.

"During the Verboom VI exercise, units will conduct a variety of engineering exercises and capability demonstrations to foster partnership, thereby strengthening NATO's combat capabilities," said a release from Latvia's National Armed Forces.

The multinational battle group in Latvia is led by Canada and consists of approximately 1,900 soldiers from Albania, the Czech Republic, Iceland, Italy, North Macedonia, Montenegro, Poland, Slovenia, Slovakia and Spain.

 During the military exercises, there may be temporary road traffic disturbances on public roads in the vicinity of the Ādaži military training ground. Members of the public are requested to adopt an understanding attitude.
