Latvian Defense Minister heads to Canada for Ottawa Conference

Latvian Defense Minister Andris Sprūds is in Canada from March 5 to March 8 to attend the annual Ottawa Conference on security and defense.

Sprūds is scheduled to participate in a 40-minute 'fireside chat' at the event on March 7. 

According to the Ministry of Defense, Sprūds will also meet with Canadian Defense Minister Bill Blair to discuss the transformation of the NATO eFP battle group in Latvia into a full brigade, the upcoming NATO summit in Washington, the support of the two countries to Ukraine, as well as Latvian border protection plans.

During the visit, the Minister of Defense will give an interview to the Canadian public television CBC, as well as to several other media.
